Our Mission

Collaborate, advocate, and educate to improve systems to prevent child abuse and achieve equitable
outcomes for Solano County children and youth.

Our Vision

All children and youth in Solano County are healthy, safe, resilient, and thriving.

Our Purpose

The Solano County Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC) is dedicated to coordinating community efforts to prevent and respond to child abuse. Guided by Welfare and Institutions Code §18982.2, we work to:

  • Foster collaboration among agencies to improve prevention, detection, treatment, and legal responses to child abuse.

  • Raise public awareness about child abuse, neglect, and the resources available for support.

  • Provide training for professionals to enhance their ability to identify, prevent, and address child abuse and neglect.

  • Advocate for improved services for children, families, and victims.

  • Encourage community involvement and support for child abuse prevention programs.

Together, we strive to create a safer, more supportive environment for children and families in Solano County.

Roles and Responsibilities

CAPC plays a vital role in developing strategic policies and work plans that support its Mission, Vision, Purpose, Priorities, and Objectives.

The Children’s Network of Solano County is a separate, incorporated non-profit agency that provides staff support to CAPC through a contractual agreement with Solano County.

Together, CAPC members and the Children’s Network work to strengthen child abuse prevention efforts through collaboration, policy development, and long-term planning.
