What Role Can Parents Play?

Being a parent or caregiver of kids isn't easy - but you are not alone.

Parents:


You're doing a hard and very important job and it can be stressful at times. As parents, all of us need help at times and sometimes we are in a position to help.

Our goal is that wherever you live in Solano County, you and your family are supported, connected and have what you need to thrive.

What Can You Do?

Reach out for assistance

For concrete support, like basic needs assistance or help with housing, you can reach out to the following: 

Get the information you need to make sure your baby is healthy

In Solano County, the Black Infant Health program and Healthy Families Solano are home visiting programs.  The Women, Infants & Children program is a supplemental nutrition program.  Help Me Grow can assist with Developmental, Social and Emotional health screenings for children 0-5 years old. 

Talk it through with parents in similar situations

Parent Cafés and the Mocha Mommas Thrive group are opportunities to have  conversations about parenting issues and concerns with other parents like you.

 

The Solano Pride Center has activities and services supporting the youth and adult LGBTQIA+ community.

SolanoConnex.org provides resources for those experiencing mental health, alcohol and substance use, violence and abuse.

Family and Bereavement support group resources.

Grief Share provides an opportunity for those suffering a recent loss.

The Compassionate Friends, Solano County Chapter provides highly personal comfort, hope, and support to families grieving a loss.
