Get your taxes, including e-file, done free! From January 31, 2011 to
April 15, 2011, you can qualify for free tax preparation services if
your annual income was less than $49,000 in 2010, depending on the size of
your family. Visit a tax preparation site
near you to get started! Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)
You may be eligible to claim the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), a tax benefit for people who work.* If you qualify, the EITC will reduce your taxes. Last year, the average total refund was over $1,200! Even if you don't owe income tax, you can get the EITC.
* Undocumented workers are not eligible for EITC, but may be eligible for FREE tax preparation and other tax credits.

Thresholds and Tax Law Updates
Earned income and adjusted gross income (AGI) must each be less than:

children

*The American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act (ARRA) provides a temporary increase in EITC and expands
the credit for workers with three or more qualifying children. These changes
are temporary and apply to 2009 and 2010 tax years.

Investment income
must be $3,100 or less for the year.
The maximum
Advance EITC workers can receive from their employers is
$1,830.
